Sony was the only manufacturer to keep the single-lens rear camera in a flagship smartphone with the XZ3 launch. However, the newer Xperia 1 has a triple-rear camera. The XZ3 launched with a dual camera setup, which was the most popular choice at the time. However, the XZ2 Premium and XZ3 had the 19-megapixel Motion Eye cameras that were available on the XZ1.
While there were some improvements over the XZ2, the hardware on the rear is the same. This means that there is no optical zoom or wide angle on the device, unlike the Galaxy S9+ or the iPhone XS.
